Bespoke: size, colour, finish

Reception areas rarely fail on style; they fail on scale. The tub version of Colina — the armchair Arper declares in two sizes, both with an upholstered base — turns that risk into a decision. The larger tub gives a lobby its generous, unhurried welcome; the smaller one brings the same enveloping line to rooms that speak more quietly. Same silhouette, two volumes: the size is the tone of voice.

Designed by Lievore Altherr Molina in 2014 as the declared companion to the Loop modular sofa, the family runs wider than the tub: a medium version on four wooden legs or a steel sled base, armchairs and small armchairs, and a covering range of fabrics, leathers and coated fabrics across all variations. Waiting areas, reception, conference corners, lounges and homes share one language. For UK projects, La Mercanti sizes the welcome room by room, with delivery times confirmed in writing at order confirmation.

FAQ

How do the catalogue model numbers read?
The collection page lists four models — 4300, 4301, 4303 and 4304 — covering the tub sizes and the medium versions. Quoting the number, rather than a description, keeps every revision of an order unambiguous.
Does Colina work without the Loop sofa?
Fully: Arper declares it at home in offices, public spaces and residences, in groups or alone. The Loop pairing is its origin story, not a requirement.
Which coverings does the range include?
A wide declared range of fabrics, leathers and coated fabrics, available across all variations — tub, medium, armchair and small armchair alike.
Is Colina suitable as lounge seating for hospitality?
Lounges are among its declared settings, alongside waiting rooms and residential spaces: the generous silhouette is drawn precisely for rooms where guests settle rather than perch.
Who designed Colina, and when?
Lievore Altherr Molina, in 2014 — the studio behind Arper's Catifa family. The armchair shares that lineage's fluid, enveloping language.

How to run a Colina fleet as a documented asset

Five steps that turn armchairs into ledger entries — so nothing goes missing and every top-up order takes minutes.

Give every chair a line
Record each Colina in an asset list with room, version, size and covering: one line per chair, written once.
Mark discreetly, keep it lasting
Place the asset tag under the seat or inside the base — findable for the auditor, invisible to the guest.
Photograph rooms when finished
Three pictures per completed area, filed with the list: images answer questions the text forgets.
Count at fixed dates
Reconcile the list against reality twice a year: differences caught early are relocations, caught late they are losses.
Reorder from the ledger
When a room grows, the asset list is the whole specification — La Mercanti turns its lines into an order with delivery times confirmed in writing.
