Beyond the Desk: the Italian design that finishes an international project

Office and contract are our trade. The project around them is our service.

A serious fit-out rarely ends with the furniture: there is the light, the rug that holds a room together, the terrace, the gym floor, the one iconic chair in the lobby. Beyond the Desk is where we keep the Italian design houses we bring into a project for exactly those moments — houses whose pieces often carry no online price, because the maker prefers it that way or because the product only exists once configured.

Wherever the project is — London, Dublin, Dubai or further — the method does not change: we select, verify the technical fit, obtain catalogues and come back with one dedicated proposal, carried by one accountable partner from specification to delivery.

Each brand below offers its catalogue for download and a dedicated enquiry form. Tell us the project in three lines — the reply will be about your project, not about our catalogue.

Acoustics & Privacy

In an open plan, silence is infrastructure. Design-led acoustic solutions — absorbing panels, pods and enclosed seating — that give conversations privacy and people concentration, without rebuilding a single wall.

Lighting

Nothing ages a fit-out faster than the wrong light. The houses that made Italian lighting famous — fixtures, systems and complete light schemes for workplaces, hotels and front-of-house spaces, with consultancy and specification support on request.

Outdoor Living

The best projects treat the terrace as another room. Outdoor collections — lounge seating, dining tables, sofas, parasols and pergolas — specified with the same discipline as the interior, for courtyards, roof gardens, hotels and private houses.

Rugs

A rug defines a room without touching a wall. Designer and made-to-measure rugs by the great textile ateliers — single pieces worthy of a collection, for reception, boardroom and the homes that deserve them.

Wellness & Spa

A building that looks after its people keeps them. Gym, wellness and spa solutions built to professional grade, for companies, hotels and private projects where wellbeing belongs to the architecture rather than the brochure.

Urban Furniture & Play Areas

Design does not stop at the front door. Benches, bollards, cycle elements and playground structures: the public realm, specified like an interior — for parks, schools and developments, with public-sector work quoted on request.

Design Icons

Some chairs are older than the companies that buy them — and better for it. Design icons in their original, current-production editions: seating, objects and accents that sign a space at first glance. Provenance you can document, not a reproduction you have to explain.

Kitchens: Design & Contract

The kitchen has become the most social room of any project. Author kitchens for hotels, restaurants, fine homes and contract work — matched with the brassware and surfaces we already carry, so specification, supply and installation answer to one partner.

Doors & Interior Systems

A door is judged twice a day, every day. Hinged and sliding doors, flush-to-wall and pocket systems by designer makers: the line between spaces, drawn properly, with finishes made to order for executive and residential schemes.

Designer Bathrooms

Guests remember the bathroom longer than the meeting room. Vanities and sanitaryware by design houses, for hotels, workplaces and fine residential work. (Brassware and surfaces sit in our main catalogue — only together do they make the finished room.)

Accents & Accessories

The last five per cent of a project decides how the whole of it is judged. Accessories and finishing objects that lend a well-made interior its coherence — and its character.

FAQ

Why do so many of these pieces carry no price online?
Because their makers decide so, and with reason: a lighting scheme, a bespoke rug or a contract kitchen only exists once it is configured — sizes, finishes, quantities, destination. A number published beforehand would simply be the wrong number. Describe the project in the brand's enquiry form and you receive a proposal priced for that exact configuration, not a price list to decode.
We are fitting out an office in London. Can one supplier really cover the lighting, the rugs and the lobby chair as well?
That is the point of this page. Most fit-outs already have one supplier for desks and seating — us. Bringing the lighting, the rug and the one iconic chair through the same supplier means one order, one delivery, one partner accountable for everything in the room. The brands matter; the single point of responsibility matters more.
Is there any way to tell an original design icon from a reproduction before it arrives?
Yes: ask where it was made. An original leaves the house that designed it, in today's production run, carrying the maker's mark, the edition number or the certificate the house issues, and built from the materials of the first drawing. Our purchases go straight to those houses, so the paperwork travels with the chair. A reproduction saves money by leaving all of that out.
Do you work with the architect, or around the architect?
With. The designer specifies and owns the client relationship; we serve the specification: technical checks, catalogues, finish samples when a house makes them available — invoiced, then deducted in full as soon as you confirm the order — and a proposal addressed to whoever you name. Nothing reaches your client before it has crossed your desk.

Three lines that get you a proposal instead of a brochure

Every brand below has its own enquiry form. Four steps to fill it in so that the reply is about your project.

Find the section first, then the house
Each section groups makers of one product type. Open the catalogue of the house you have in mind: if the piece is in there, that is the form to use.
Write the brief, not the wish
In «Your project» set out the room, its use, how many pieces and where the job stands. A pendant for a twelve-seat boardroom is not the same brief as a pendant. That is what turns a form into a proposal.
Add the shipping country and a number we can ring
The destination sets transport and paperwork. A WhatsApp or phone number, if you leave one, settles a finish in a minute rather than over three emails.
Expect a proposal, not a list
The reply is written around your brief: products, configurations and prices for that request, with the delivery date put in writing at order confirmation. Should a sample help, we say so at once.
