Change the model and the seat stays where it is: 65 cm (25 5/8 in) across, identical on the 5015, the 5045 and the 5045R. Ares Line rests the comfort of this chair on that measure, a large and welcoming seat in the producer's own description. Among the executive chairs for the desk we specify, it is the one figure that stays put whichever model is chosen.
What changes sits above and below. The back comes high, with the padded headrest that wraps its top, or low, and both carry the stitched seams that Ares Line counts among the strengths of the chair. The 5015 and the 5045 ride a five-spoke base on castors with a gas lift from 45 to 58 cm (17 3/4 to 22 7/8 in); the 5045R stands on four polished-aluminium spokes at a fixed 85 cm (33 1/2 in). Beech plywood under self-extinguishing polyurethane, arms closed in birch plywood or open, in three variants: design BaccoliniDesign, for Ares Line of Thiene.
The same seat then furnishes a room three ways. The 5015 goes behind the desk of a suite for the director; the 5045 takes the second desk; the 5045R sits in front of the director or at the meeting table, where the catalogue photographs four of them, and could furnish a waiting area meant to impress; where there is a conference bench, the T&T version, fixed to the floor, returns to its place by itself. La Mercanti lists the three Parlament models next to each other in the quote, and the client sees at a glance that only the back and the base change.

Yes, and in one direction only: Ares Line lists a height adjustment of the lumbar support among the mechanisms of the chair, on the high back and on the low one alike. Depth is not adjustable, and no source says otherwise, so whoever specifies the chair should not promise it. For the person sitting, that single setting is the one that matters most: the support slides to where the lower back actually is, and the rest of the backrest keeps the shape the manufacturer gave it.
No. It is the first of two optional accessories on the Ares Line data sheet, ordered separately for each chair; the standard back carries its stitched seams without a change of tone. In the catalogue photograph the option shows as a lighter thread along the padded edge of the headrest, so it is visible from across the room rather than only up close. On a mixed order, the director's chair can take it while the chairs for guests stay plain, and the data sheet keeps the two apart as two codes.
In the floor-fixed T&T version, the Ares Line catalogue states a minimum spacing of 87 cm (34 1/4 in) between one seat and the next. That chair is 60 cm (23 5/8 in) across and 55 cm (21 5/8 in) deep, stands 130 to 135 cm (51 1/8 to 53 1/8 in) tall and seats at 49 to 54 cm (19 1/4 to 21 1/4 in). Divide the length of the bench by 87 and you have the number of places; the T&T column then brings each chair back into line when the room empties.
That the headrest on the 5015 is not a separate block bolted above the backrest. The manufacturer describes a padded headrest that wraps the top of the back, obtained with what it calls a clever trick of the upholstery: the padding wraps over the crown instead of sitting on top of it. The chair reaches 124 to 137 cm (48 7/8 to 53 7/8 in) from the floor with it, and the profile stays in one piece from the seat upwards, which is the reason the tall back is read as a silhouette rather than as an assembly.
Ares Line declares 0.34 m³ (12.0 cu ft) for the 5015 with the high back and headrest, and 0.25 m³ (8.8 cu ft) for both the 5045 on castors and the 5045R on fixed feet. Two figures, then, that a loading list needs before the lorry is booked, and the difference between them sits in the top of the back, not in the base: the volume follows the backrest ordered, and a boardroom that mixes the three models is counted model by model, never with one average per chair.
Ares Line lists two castor treads, fixed feet and a four-spoke base that never rolls. The five decisions that put the right contact point under each Parlament, read from the manufacturer's sheet.
Start with the floors, not the chairs: for every room where a Parlament will stand, note whether the flooring is soft or hard. Ares Line makes the castor depend on that single fact, and a five-spoke base ordered without it arrives with a tread chosen by default rather than by the floor it will live on. One line per room is enough for the whole order.
On soft flooring the manufacturer specifies self-braking swivel castors in nylon. They sit on the five-spoke base, in nylon or polished aluminium, under the 5015 and the 5045, and they are the version the data sheet gives first. Where the floor is soft throughout a suite, every rolling chair in it takes this castor and the order carries one code for all of them.
On hard flooring the same self-braking swivel castor carries a polyurethane tread instead. It is the second of the two treads Ares Line offers, and the only difference the sheet records between the two castors. A corridor, a meeting room and a private office on different floor finishes can therefore share one chair and differ only in this line of the configuration.
The five-spoke base does not have to roll. Ares Line offers it with fixed feet in nylon in place of the castors, on the same star in nylon or polished aluminium. It is the choice for a Parlament that is meant to stay where it was placed, and because the base is the same component, the chair keeps its gas lift, its lumbar adjustment and its mechanism exactly as on the castor version.
The 5045R needs no decision at all: its four-spoke base in polished aluminium comes with nylon feet only, at a fixed height of 85 cm (33 1/2 in), and there is no castor option for it. At a meeting table, that is precisely the model's purpose. On the order it is enough to write the code; the floor finish matters only for the two rolling models.
