Trade terms for professionals and design studios

Every furniture buyer has had the conversation: the second delivery does not quite match the first. Most manufacturers wait for it to happen. Sitland prints the answer in advance on Sit it: colour tone cannot be guaranteed identical between production batches, and a tolerance of ±5% is to be considered normal. It is not a disclaimer buried in a contract — it sits on the material page, before anyone signs anything.

The chair that carries that honesty is a structured, linear collection designed by Sergio Bellin and Dorigo Design, on a steel and aluminium frame, with cushions of differentiated density and armrests blended into the seat. Executive chair, managerial and meeting versions share the same signature.

Which version, which covering, which batch: three questions, one written answer from Sitland — prepared with La Mercanti before anything goes into production.

FAQ

Why does colour vary between deliveries?
Because dye lots differ. Sitland declares a ±5% tolerance as normal and says so on the material page rather than in a later negotiation.
Does that affect a phased order?
It is the reason phased orders are worth planning: chairs ordered together come from the same batch. We flag this before the schedule is split.
What is the frame made of?
Steel and aluminium, carrying what Sitland calls the collection's structured linearity.
Which coverings are offered?
A coated fabric and three chrome-tanned bovine leathers, each with its own declared thickness; the chair front sits on a black or white supporting canvas.
Is the design protected?
Yes — the collection is declared as covered by a Registered Design Patent.

How to choose between the three versions of the collection

Width and armrest height are shared; the depth is not. Five checks before the order.

Measure behind the desk
Depth plus the room to stand up decides which version fits.
Look at who sits there
A desk occupied all day asks for a different depth than a meeting seat.
Keep the armrest height in mind
It is common to all versions, so desk clearance is settled once.
Check the swivel circle
A five-star base draws a circle that has to stay clear of drawers.
Ask for the dimensioned sheet
La Mercanti supplies the declared figures and Sitland confirms the configuration.
