Trade terms for professionals and design studios

Some chairs furnish; a few declare. Lead by Las Mobili, designed by Progetto CMR — Giacobone & Roj, belongs to the second kind of executive chair: the manufacturer itself presents it as an icon, a symbol of leadership and authority, a chair that — in Las Mobili's words — communicates the user's position and the function of the environment in which it is set. Its vocabulary is die-cast aluminium: the five-star base Ø 700 mm, polished or painted black, and the BFC4 armrest cast in the same metal — or, for a softer register, the BFT shaped armrest, padded and upholstered.

Three back heights write the hierarchy — high (117–127 cm), medium (98–108 cm), low (80–90 cm), manufacturer data — over one engineered construction: beech-poplar plywood shells with fire-retardant expanded polyurethane declared by the producer, 100 mm thick on the backrest core at 35 kg/m³ and 55 mm on the seat at 40 kg/m³. Movement is a choice of two mechanisms on DIN 4550 gas columns above level 4 (manufacturer data): G1, the essential one — chromed die-cast swivel plate, gas lift, 360° — or GY1 Gas Syncron, with synchronised seat-back movement lockable in 4 positions, weight-based tension set by knob and an anti-shock release lever.

Three bases, three rooms

Lead changes feet as it moves through the executive floor: behind the desk, the five-star swivel base on Ø 65 mm self-braking twin-tread castors; in front of it, the aluminium pyramid base — four spokes, Ø 680 mm, rubber glides — for visitors; in the meeting room, the pyramid base in ash wood, stained walnut or black, on felt pads with a nickel-finish swivel plate. Fourteen upholstery options from the LAS colour folder — Ecopelle, Time, One, Melange, Lana, Nautilus, Sealife, Mixage, Poseidon, Supreme, Grain by Gabriel, Ally by Flukso, leather and customer's own fabric — and a five-year warranty declared by the manufacturer (coverings three years, padding two). Product certificates can be downloaded on this page.

FAQ

One chair, three registers: what does each Lead backrest height say about who sits where?

By declared measure: 117–127 cm total height for the presidential register, 98–108 cm for everyday management, 80–90 cm where the chair should sit below the conversation — meeting tables and guest positions. Manufacturer data, one construction underneath: the hierarchy is told by centimetres of backrest, not by changing chair family.

G1 or GY1 Syncron — which mechanism should we specify?

G1 is the essential choice: a chromed die-cast swivel plate fixed to the seat, gas lift lever, 360° rotation — nothing to adjust. GY1 Gas Syncron moves seat and backrest together in a synchronised ride, lockable in 4 positions, with tension tuned to body weight by knob and an anti-shock lever for lock and release. Both run on gas columns that comply with DIN 4550 above level 4, as declared by the manufacturer. Specify per person: the executive who tilts gets the Syncron.

Aluminium or padded armrests — what changes?

The register. BFC4 is die-cast aluminium, polished or painted black — the chair shows its metal and matches the five-star base. BFT is the shaped, padded and upholstered armrest: plywood core, fire-retardant polyurethane (manufacturer data), fabric or leather continuing over the arm — the tailored voice. The choice also moves fabric use: from 1.85 m to 2.45 m on the high back, declared by the producer.

What are the three bases for?

Three rooms. The five-star swivel base (Ø 700 mm, polished or black) on Ø 65 mm self-braking castors works behind the desk; the aluminium pyramid (Ø 680 mm, rubber glides) holds the visitor side with gas lift and 360° swivel; the ash wood pyramid — stained walnut or black, felt pads, nickel swivel plate — brings the same shell to the meeting table with a warmer, architectural foot. One chair, one language, the whole executive floor.

Which upholsteries are available — and what warranty stands behind the chair?

Fourteen options from the LAS colour folder: Ecopelle, Time, One, Melange, Lana, Nautilus, Sealife, Mixage, Poseidon, Supreme — with Aquaclean and Safe Front treatments declared by the producer — Grain by Gabriel, Ally by Flukso, leather, and customer's own fabric. Las Mobili declares a five-year warranty on the chair, three on coverings, two on padding. Physical samples are available and their cost is fully credited when the order is confirmed.

How to specify the Lead executive chair, room by room

For office managers and designers: five decisions that turn one icon into a coherent executive floor.

Read the role, then pick the centimetres

Match the declared heights to the registers: 117–127 cm high back for the presidential office, 98–108 cm for everyday leadership, 80–90 cm for meeting and guest positions. One construction, three statements.

Choose the mechanism by the sitter

G1 for the executive who wants no settings — gas lift and 360°; GY1 Gas Syncron for those who tilt: synchronised seat-back ride, 4 locking positions, weight-based knob tension, anti-shock lever. DIN 4550 columns above level 4, manufacturer data.

Set the register with the armrest

Die-cast aluminium BFC4 — polished or black — where the chair should show its metal; padded BFT where fabric or leather must continue over the arm. Match the base finish: polished with polished, black with black.

Change feet with the room

Five-star swivel on castors behind the desk; aluminium pyramid with rubber glides for visitors; ash wood pyramid on felt pads in the meeting room. And choose castors by floor: hard on carpet, soft on marble and tile.

Approve samples, then freeze the specification

Leathers, fabrics and polished aluminium change under every light: approve physical samples on site — their cost is fully credited at order confirmation — then fix heights, mechanisms, armrests, bases and coverings in writing.
