Put the two Elinor executive chairs side by side and the floor tells you nothing: both sweep the same Ø 810 mm (Ø 31.9 in) circle, both lift the seat through the same 410÷540 mm (16.1÷21.2 in), both carry the same backrest dimension of 590÷720 mm (23.2÷28.3 in). What changes is what happens above the shoulders: the 3755 stands 950÷1080 mm (37.4÷42.5 in) tall, the 3756 low back 840÷970 mm (33.1÷38.2 in). Claudio Bellini kept everything that touches the room identical and moved only the part you lean against.

That matters when the two versions share a table. The high back belongs behind the desk and where the table begins; the low back sits opposite it and around the meeting table, where a tall backrest would cut the sightline across the room. Because the swept circle is the same, a plan drawn for one is a plan drawn for the other, and clearances checked once stay valid. La Mercanti puts both codes on the same layout before quoting, so the room is measured once. The collection closes with the Elinor tables in four sizes, from the 150×150 square to the 300×110, each also available with the CC60 duct or the compact CCO cable box, on bases upholstered in the same leather.

When it is the right choice

  • Rooms drawn once for two seats: both Elinor versions sweep the same Ø 810 mm circle and share the 410÷540 mm seat travel.
  • Boardrooms where sightlines matter: the low back stops at 840÷970 mm, the high back reaches 950÷1080 mm.
  • Projects that need one hand across desk and table: the collection carries the ELN tables in four sizes.

When another solution suits better

  • Where seating runs across continuous shifts, Pedrali declares neither a load rating nor 24-hour use for Elinor → Task Office Chairs
  • Where the room is cleared and chairs are stacked away, neither version is declared stackable → Meeting Room Chairs

FAQ

Do both versions carry the same fire approval

No. The ministerial type approval «MODELLO ELINOR 3755» in class 1 IM is printed on the high-back sheet only. Both seats use class 1 IM foam, but the approval is filed against one model.

What does the GREENGUARD mark cover

UL 2818, low chemical emissions. Pedrali lists it next to both Elinor chairs in the price list. It says nothing about strength: that is the EN and BIFMA testing, declared separately.

Which certifications does the factory hold

ISO 9001 for quality and ISO 14001 for environmental management, both printed on the Elinor sheet. They cover the company, not the individual chair.

How much recycled material is in the chair

The die-cast aluminium is declared 94% recycled at origin. Across the whole 3755 the figures are 35.5% recycled at origin and 85% recyclable at end of life; the low back reads 36.6% and 86%.

How is the leather cleaned

With a cloth dampened in water only. Pedrali excludes detergents, solvents, bleaching agents and abrasives. Category P is mid-grain leather, 0.9 to 1.1 mm (0.035 to 0.043 in) thick.

How to write Elinor into a specification

A specification that names Elinor without its figures leaves the decision to whoever prices it. These are the entries Pedrali actually declares, in the order a specifier needs them.

Name the Elinor code, not just the family

Write 3755 for the high back or 3756 for the low back. The two share the base and the seat travel, so a specification that says only «Elinor» can be filled with either one.

Quote the tests as the sheet quotes them

Elinor is declared against EN 1728:2012+AC:2013 clauses 7.3 to 7.10 read with EN 1335-2:2018 clause 5.2, and against ANSI-BIFMA X5.1-2017. Naming the clauses is what makes the entry checkable.

State the upholstery category and its exclusions

C, G, H or P is not enough on its own for Elinor: the sheet excludes specific ranges within G and H. Carrying the exclusions into the specification prevents a substitution at order stage.

Fix the frame finish and let the castors follow

Choose black, polished or satinized aluminium for the Elinor frame. Pedrali ties the castor finish to the base, so the castors are not a separate line to argue over later.

Attach the manufacturer's sheet to the entry

Close the Elinor entry with the ST_ELINOR sheet and, where the room requires it, the class 1 IM type approval. The sheet is what a reviewer checks; the specification only points at it.
