Elastic belts beneath the leather: the G7 armchair by Mascheroni

Upholsterers have a question they put to any armchair before praising it: what carries the cushions? On the G7 executive armchair the answer is the traditional one — elastic belts, tensioned across a frame of solid wood, the suspension English upholstery has always trusted. Above them sits non-deformable foam rubber in a Dacron cover; over everything, natural bovine leather closed with hand-sewn seams. Nothing in that build is the quick way; all of it is the lasting one.

Mascheroni keeps the G7 among the classics of its production, and La Mercanti presents it the same way an upholsterer would: construction first, with the full leather book open on the table before any order.
