Every desk maker talks about lightness; few hand the job to glass. In Bold58 by About Office the thick top rests on a transparent glass support, so the eye reads a floating slab while the physics stay quietly resolved. Designer Roberto Giacomucci calls it the contrast between «a dynamic view of the suspension» and «the reassuring stability of the sculptural elements».

The executive desks that earn their place in the room come in five characters — Leaven, Fusion, Deck, Bridge and Imperial — from 180 to 280 cm — 200 deep once the return is added — all at 78 cm height, with the 58 mm top as the constant. On Fusion the drawer unit slips under that top and the glass takes the load; on Leaven the glass divides desk from cabinet and joins them in the same gesture.

Magnum meeting tables, the Universe reception and the Gate and Frame storage walls complete the collection. La Mercanti specifies and delivers Bold58 for executive floors across the UK and beyond, one drawing at a time.

FAQ

Why is the collection called Bold58?
The number is a thickness: the desk and table tops measure 58 mm, and that bold section is the focal element the whole collection is built around.
Where does Fusion hide its storage?
The drawer pedestal is enclosed in the modesty panel and runs in continuity with the desk top, which rests on the glass support — storage without a cabinet in sight.
How long can the Magnum meeting table go?
From 300 up to 620 cm at 140 cm depth, with a 58 mm top on monolithic bases and a central electrification system for the room's technology.
Which finishes does the collection offer?
Four melamines including Noce Boheme and Nero Jazz, ten lacquers from Senape Italiana to Ottanio, transparent and back-lacquered glass, Laminam® surfaces, Titanio and Bronzo metals, black leather.
Who designed Bold58?
Roberto Giacomucci, who presents it as «a coherent whole in terms of sensations, colors and functionality» — a new, determined sign for the office.

How to compose a storage wall with Gate and Frame

Five steps for facility managers and designers building an executive storage wall that files documents and furnishes the room in one gesture.

Measure the wall, then the archive
Start from the real linear metres available and the volume of files and objects to house: the wall decides the modules, not the reverse.
Let Gate set the rhythm
The structural outer frame carries shelves and dividers; wall units with hinged doors slot into the open bays where discretion is needed.
Reserve Frame for what deserves a vitrine
Glass doors with bronze frames and opposing grain directions turn the finest pieces into a display, not just storage.
Decide where light should follow
The optional LED with door-opening sensor switches on as the door opens — assign it to the bays used most often.
Close the composition in writing
Configure modules and finishes with La Mercanti and confirm the specification in writing at order: production starts from that document.
