Most classic executive desks are made of wood, glass or metal. One adds a fourth option: sides cut from Piasentina stone, a grey stone quarried in north-east Italy and worked by hand, 40 mm thick on the desk and 18 mm on the extension. Each slab carries a white flame-shaped vein that forms naturally in the quarry, so no two desks share the same pattern, and Codutti says so in the catalogue: the flaming makes every composition exclusive to the buyer. The stone sits on the same mirror-polished stainless steel crossbars that carry the walnut and hide versions, and it takes either a 12 mm extra-clear glass top or a 41 mm American walnut top, in natural, tobacco or bleached vintage tones.

The range does not stop at the desk: a supporting drawer unit with a hidden push-pull door, multi-function extensions with a laptop bay and a bag bay, open bookcases raised on panelled feet, modular cabinets with a built-in fridge or a digital safe, modular meeting tables for 10 or 14 people, a standing conversation counter, waiting tables, chairs and sofas in leather. Codutti covers the pieces with a five-year warranty stated in the 2025 price list. Because stone is chosen by the slab, La Mercanti asks the factory for photographs of the actual panels before the desk is crated for the UK: the veining you see is the veining you receive.

FAQ

How is the hidden compartment on the drawer unit opened?
By pressing the door. The supporting drawer unit has a push-pull door opposite the drawer fronts, without any handle: a light push releases it and reveals a secretaire compartment with a melamine shelf. From the visitor side the unit reads as a plain panelled side.
Which walnut tones are offered?
Three, all on veneered American walnut: natural NN27, tobacco-dyed NT29 and bleached vintage NV26. The same tones apply to desk tops, extension fronts, bookcase doors and the 19 mm tops of the cabinets, so a whole office can be ordered in a single tone or mixed with hide and stone.
Can the meeting table grow after it has been bought?
Yes. The modular table for 10 people, 250 × 120 cm (98.4 × 47.2 in), and the one for 14, 375 × 120 cm (147.6 × 47.2 in), accept a central extension module that adds four seats and a panelled side; a cable flap can be ordered for each top module with the +S suffix.
What sits in the extension beside the desk?
Whatever the office needs: a three-drawer unit, cabinets with a single or double door, a bay for the computer unit or a bay for a bag, on glass or black melamine shelves, with optional doors with or without a lock on the computer bay.
Does the multi-socket come with UK plugs?
Yes: the blind panel at the end of the structural extension takes a multi-socket in a UK version, with two UK sockets and two USB ports for charging, or in an EU version with two Schuko sockets. It is written as a suffix to the extension code, not as a loose item, and the price list also offers a variant with data and HDMI ports.

How to specify One in a fit-out tender

A line-by-line way to describe a One executive office in a specification so that every bidder prices the same desk, the same stone and the same options.

Name the desk by its code logic
Write One and then the width: 180, 200, 220 or 240 cm (70.9 to 94.5 in). Add the letter that describes the frame, K for a spacer ready for the extension, C for the single top ready for the supporting drawer unit, so the bidder prices the right version.
State the top and its thickness
Choose between 12 mm (0.5 in) extra-clear glass on stainless steel flanges and 41 mm (1.6 in) veneered walnut, and say whether the walnut top carries the hide insert, 90 × 66 cm (35.4 × 26 in) on the shorter desks and 120 × 66 cm (47.2 × 26 in) on the longer ones.
Give the panels one line each
Specify Piasentina, walnut or hide for the panels of the desk, and repeat the choice for the counter-panels of extensions and bookcases: the price list requires them in Piasentina, wood or hide, never in melamine, so a tender that leaves them out gets an incomplete price.
List the options as separate items
Cable plugs, the central cable flap, the modesty panel, the multi-socket, the BlueSound player, the fridge and the digital safe are each a code in the Codutti list. One item per line keeps the comparison honest.
Close with finishes and warranty
Quote the finish codes, NN27, NT29 or NV26 for walnut, QW56 for Piasentina, the Rainbow code for the hide, and the five-year warranty stated by Codutti. La Mercanti checks the finished specification against the factory order acknowledgement before it is signed.
