Almost every mixer tap hides its cartridge inside the body or behind the wall. Giotto Plus by Cea Design does the opposite: the handle is deliberately oversized so that the mixing cartridge lives inside it, in the external part of the product. The component that does the work is not concealed — it becomes the very element your hand closes around, a full cylinder of AISI 316L stainless steel.

The move only succeeds because the drawing can carry it. Giotto, designed by Natalino Malasorti, is built on the pure form of the circle, so a generous handle does not read as bulk: it reads as geometry at a larger diameter. The single-lever logic of Giotto Plus joins the progressive, dual-handle and thermostatic versions of the main collection, keeping one aesthetic across every configuration.

The range runs through the whole bathroom — washbasin and bidet mixers, shower and bath groups, a rim-mounted bathtub series, an extensive family of remote controls and matching accessories. Through La Mercanti, Giotto reaches projects where the washroom is specified with the same care as the meeting room.

FAQ

How many mixing logics does the Giotto collection offer?
Four across the range: progressive, dual-control and thermostatic in Giotto, plus the single-lever logic introduced by Giotto Plus — all sharing the same circular design language.
What makes up the three-hole basin set in the Giotto range?
The classic composition — central spout with a control on either side — resolved as three circles of steel: references GIO16, GIO17 and GIO46 within the collection.
What does the Giotto accessories collection include?
A matching range in which, as CEA puts it, the line of the circle is repeated to emphasise its perfection — so towel holders and bathroom accessories carry the same geometry as the taps.
Which special finishes can Giotto be ordered in?
Beyond satin and polished, CEA offers Black Diamond, Bronze, Copper and Light Gold, declared ecological and biocompatible.
What is the Acqua Stop System within the Giotto range?
It is the named system fitted to specific thermostatic groups and remote controls of the collection — GIO54 and GIO55 series and the TRM08 mixer; its technical documentation is provided at specification stage.

How to sequence Giotto around the other trades on site

Taps arrive last but are decided first. Five steps to slot Giotto into a bathroom fit-out without holding up stone, tiling or joinery.

Issue the Giotto positions before the stone is cut
Stone masons and countertop fabricators need the hole layout early: confirm which Giotto configurations go where, so cutting templates are made once.
Agree what the first-fix stage needs
Clarify with La Mercanti which parts of the Giotto order the plumber needs while walls and floors are still open, and which pieces stay boxed until the end.
Let tiling and finishes close before the steel arrives
Programme the visible Giotto components to reach site after wet trades are complete: polished surfaces and dusty grinders do not share a room well.
Book a single fitting pass
Group the final installation of all Giotto pieces — basin, shower, bath, accessories — into one visit, with the confirmed order list in hand.
Walk the room with the checklist
Before the bathroom is signed off, verify every Giotto position against the order: codes, surfaces, alignment — one inspection, no return visits.
