Look at the technical sheet for Array and one number repeats itself seven times: D96. Straight module, external curve, inside curve, poufs, armrests — widths change, heights change, the depth never does. That single constant is what stops a modular sofa from reading as a pile of parts: whatever you assemble, the front line stays true and the back line stays true.

The system was designed by Snøhetta for mdf italia and holds the XXIX Compasso d'Oro ADI. Its principle is small modules rather than one large piece, so layouts multiply and elements can be taken apart for replacement or recycling.

Depth is the measurement that decides whether a waiting area works. Send us the plan and the number of people to seat, and we will build the composition with mdf italia.

How to read a sofa in profile before you read the price

The side view tells you what the front view hides. Five things to look at.

Look at it from the side first
Height, not width, is what changes a room.
Check where the backrest ends
The finishing line decides how heavy the piece reads.
Compare the arm to the seat
An armrest too far above the seat stops people leaning.
Watch the step down to a pouf
A level transition extends the seat; a step interrupts it.
Have the profile confirmed
La Mercanti checks the figures with mdf italia before ordering.
