No piece of office furniture gets touched, bumped and leaned on like the front desk. Trolley cases, courier parcels, laptop bags, the corner of a delivery box: everything the building receives arrives here first. Z1 by Quadrifoglio is built for that daily traffic: every structural panel — backs, worktops, counter shelves — carries a perimeter edge in impact-resistant ABS, 2 mm (5/64 in) thick on the 30 mm (1 3/16 in) panels, so the profile that meets the world is the toughest part of the desk.

Behind that edge sits a rational system — shared with the Z2 and its corner modules —: linear and corner modules building compositions from 160 to 480 cm (63 to 189 in), matt lacquer or melamine surfaces, steel legs and anodised aluminium plinths finished in epoxy powder. The reception desk stays sharp not because nobody touches it, but because it was drawn for people who do.

La Mercanti can put an edge sample in your hands before you commit — the difference is easier to feel than to read. And since Quadrifoglio recommends Z1 well beyond the office, from hotel lobbies to schools and shops, the same resilience serves wherever the public walks in.

FAQ

How wide can a Z1 reception counter go?
Symmetric layouts run from 160 to 480 cm (63 to 189 in), asymmetric ones measure 280 or 440 cm (110 or 173 in), all built from linear and corner modules of 40, 80 and 160 cm (15.7, 31.5 and 63 in).
Can the LED strip be added to the desk at a later stage?
Yes. The strip mounts under the plinth with a self-adhesive film, can be bent or cut to suit the composition and runs on a 24 V supply, so an existing installation can be upgraded without rebuilding the counter.
What is the inner plinth and when is it worth ordering?
The outer aluminium plinth is part of the structure; the inner one, on the operator side, is optional and closes the base all round — a finishing touch for counters that stand in the middle of the room.
Which melamine finishes does the collection offer?
The melamine version comes in white, concrete, eucalyptus, elm, canaletto walnut and oak, alongside the matt lacquer palette and the full RAL scale on request.
Who supports the specification stage through La Mercanti?
An in-house team follows the project from floor plan to order confirmation, with every configuration and finish of the counter put in writing before production starts.

How to survey a lobby before ordering the Z1 counter

Five checks that turn a rough idea into a reliable plan for the Z1 reception counter, done with a tape and a camera in half a morning.

Draw the entrance on paper
Sketch the lobby with doors, pillars and glazing, then note where visitors naturally walk: the Z1 composition will be chosen around that path.
Record the wall-to-wall distances
Take the width of the area at floor level and at worktop height, since skirtings and sills often steal centimetres from the drawing.
Mark the power points
Locate sockets and floor boxes near the intended position: their distance decides how the cabling accessories will be specified.
Photograph the access route
Shoot the doorways, lifts and corridors the modules will travel through, with a tape visible in each frame.
Hand the survey to La Mercanti
With sketch, distances, power points and photos, the team matches the right composition to the room and confirms it on the drawing.
