Barber & Osgerby designed the 2012 Olympic Torch — and a coin in your pocket

Puzzle tiles by Barber and Osgerby in an office reception

No studio is woven deeper into modern Britain: Edward Barber and Jay Osgerby designed the London 2012 Olympic Torch, the two-pound coin marking 150 years of the Underground, and installations for the V&A and Somerset House. Architecture graduates of the Royal College of Art, partners in East London since 1996, they are Royal Designers for Industry (2007), OBE (2013) and holders of the London Design Medal (2015) — with work collected from the Design Museum to the Met.

Their ceramic side lives at Mutina — four collections, from Puzzle to Time — and our Mutina pages already name them: through La Mercanti, the most British of studios ends up on your office floor.
