Britain perfected the leather-topped desk generations ago — and then spent decades watching those tops scratch, stain and outlive their charm. Athos, an executive desk by IVM, keeps the idea and retires the maintenance: the writing zone is built into the top as a band of Primofiore, IVM's leather-grain laminate — the French catalogue calls it a «sous-main» — set against elm laminate and divided by a slim aluminium profile in Brill finish. The look of the club desk, the upkeep of a modern one.

The engineering is signed R&D by IVM, the in-house technical office of the Lissone factory, and it shows where laminate desks usually fail: the entire perimeter of the 40 mm top is edged in 3.5 mm aluminium with rounded corners. Two configurations — twin side panels with an 18 cm overhanging guest top, or a lateral extension at h 67 — both take the Top Access cable port, with a ventilated PC tower unit under the extension and drawer pedestals that soft-close and lock all drawers with a single key.

The collection completes the floor: meeting tables with a technical strip up to 410x140 cm, a 140 square, a chrome-based round, waiting tables at h 45 and a perimeter bridge storage wall, all in the three colour harmonies — Tortora, Dark Brown, Cream. Materials comply with UNI EN standards, with 90% of production CARB 2 certified. Heritage looks, engineered manners.

Is the Athos desk pad real leather?
No — and that is the point. It is Primofiore, IVM's leather-grain laminate: the club-desk look without the club-desk upkeep. Coffee rings, ink and scratches that would scar a hide simply wipe off, and the writing zone stays identical for years.
Which Athos configuration suits a director who hosts at the desk?
The twin side-panel version: its hooked top overhangs the desk width by 18 cm, giving visitors a proper edge to sit at. Choose the lateral extension instead when the priority is working surface, cable routing via Top Access and a ventilated PC tower below.
How does Athos handle cables and hardware?
By design rather than by drilling: Top Access ports on the hooked top or extension, a technical strip with Top Access and cable bushings on the meeting tables, and a PC tower unit with twin ventilation grilles. The technology works; the room never mentions it.

Size the desk to the room, not the ego
Widths run 190, 210 and 240 cm with 90 or 100 cm depths: keep 120 cm clear behind the chair and let the storage wall sit within arm's reach — the desk should command the room, not fill it.
Pick the configuration by habit
