Most executive desks are born with a fixed geometry: you buy the left-hand version and hope the office never changes. Planeta by DVO Office is built the other way, as a modern desk should be. The desktop — 180 or 200 centimetres — mounts on the service unit in three different positions, declared in the technical sheet as three assembling solutions, and the unit itself comes right- or left-handed in two depths. The same two pieces produce compositions from 180 to 247.5 centimetres: the layout is a decision you take at assembly, and can take again.

For a UK office that moves, merges and re-plans, that flexibility is the quiet argument: the desk follows the floor plan instead of dictating it. Around it, the collection adds meeting tables, desks for compositions and universal storage, so the executive floor grows from one catalogue rather than five suppliers. La Mercanti specifies the right composition — position, depth, modesty panel — before the order, so what arrives is the geometry the room actually needs.

FAQ

What does «three assembling solutions» actually mean on Planeta?
The technical sheet shows the same desktop mounting on the service unit in three different positions. Combined with right- or left-handed units in two depths, the two pieces cover compositions from 180 to 247.5 centimetres without changing product.
Can the Planeta layout be changed after installation?
The mounting position is an assembly choice, not a factory one: the desk can be reconfigured when the office is re-planned. La Mercanti advises on which position and depth suit the new plan before anything is moved.
Which depths does the Planeta service unit come in?
Two: 66 or 92.5 centimetres, each in a right- or left-handed version, with a 25 mm carcass and a sliding door that soft-closes in both directions.
Is there a version of Planeta with a glass top?
Yes — 10 mm extra-clear tempered glass, back-lacquered white or black with an acid-etched surface. With the glass top the desk height is 74 centimetres instead of 75.
What completes the Planeta collection beyond the desk?
DVO declares meeting tables — square, rectangular and modular up to 480 centimetres — desks for compositions, pedestals and universal storage units, all in the same finish language.

How to plan an executive office around Planeta’s three positions

For buyers and A&D: decide the geometry at assembly, not at purchase.

Read the room first
Door, window, visitor flow: they decide whether the unit sits right or left.
Pick the desktop length
180 or 200 centimetres, depth 90, height 75 — 74 with the glass top.
Choose the mounting position
Three assembling solutions per desk: the composition code follows the choice, L1 to L9.
Match the modesty panel
Each composition has its own MP size, from 100 to 160 centimetres.
Leave room to re-plan
La Mercanti documents position and depth, so the next office move reuses the same desk.
