Codutti's 2025 price list prints Ginza twice. The first page reads «Roman travertine and lacquered», the second «solid wood and lacquered», and the five lines under each are identical: a meeting table of 240 × 90 × 74 cm (94 1/2 × 35 3/8 × 29 1/8 in), a round table 120 cm (47 1/4 in) across, two coffee tables and a chest of seven drawers. Same drawing, two families. In stone the table reads as a slab of Rome standing on two panels; in wood it is warmer and quieter, and the chairs Codutti photographs around it are wooden too.

The pairing with lacquer is not decoration. Barbieri Magalini designed the Codutti collection as «a tribute to Japanese rationalism», where the structure comes from panels that can be made «in one or more materials or finishes» — so a travertine top can sit on one travertine panel and one lacquered panel, or a solid-wood top on two lacquered ones. Which of the two families a client wants is decided before anything else, and La Mercanti shows them side by side in the proposal, one page for each, with the finish samples clipped to it, before a single measurement is taken.

FAQ

How tall is the Ginza Tower, and what is inside?
The chest stands 145 cm (57 1/8 in) on a 60 × 60 cm (23 5/8 × 23 5/8 in) footprint and holds seven drawers that open by pressing the front — Codutti calls them push-pull. It comes in the same two families as the table, travertine or solid wood, always with lacquered elements.
Why is the round table lower than the meeting table?
Because the price list gives it 70 cm (27 1/2 in) instead of 74 cm (29 1/8 in). The 120 cm (47 1/4 in) round is photographed with armchairs rather than upright seating, and the lower height follows that more relaxed use.
Do the coffee tables use the same construction?
Yes. Codutti describes the Ginza Coffee Table as a smaller version «with the same modular structure»: panels meeting under a top with rounded edges. There are two, 60 × 60 cm (23 5/8 × 23 5/8 in) and 120 × 60 cm (47 1/4 × 23 5/8 in), both 40 cm (15 3/4 in) high.
Can the base be matt while the top is glossy?
The collection allows it: finishes are «glossy or matt» and the panels can share one look or combine finishes for contrast. Each panel is specified on its own line of the order, which La Mercanti checks against the samples you approved.
Is there a warranty on the Ginza collection?
Codutti prints «5 years warranted products» on the cover of the 2025 Ginza price list. The conditions of the warranty are those of the manufacturer, and La Mercanti attaches them to the quotation.

How to set a Ginza table for a meeting in the morning and a dinner in the evening

Codutti proposes the Ginza table as a conference table and as a dining table. In a client suite or a private office, the same 240 cm top can serve both, if the room is prepared for it.

Clear the top completely between the two uses
The Ginza top has no built-in outlets or fixed accessories, so a meeting leaves nothing behind: laptops, cables and folders go into the Tower drawers, and the travertine or wood surface is ready for the table setting.
Keep the meeting chairs and the dining chairs apart
Upright chairs for the meeting, armchairs or wooden chairs for dinner, as in Codutti's own photographs. Store the second set in the adjoining room so the swap takes minutes, not a removal.
Plan the lighting for both heights of attention
A meeting needs even light across the 240 × 90 cm (94 1/2 × 35 3/8 in) surface; a dinner needs it lower and warmer. Two circuits, or dimmable pendants, let the Ginza table change register without moving anything.
Protect the surface according to its material
On the travertine version, use place mats and coasters at dinner; on the solid wood version, the same rule applies to hot dishes. Codutti does not publish care instructions for Ginza, so La Mercanti asks the manufacturer for any product-specific advice before delivery.
Write the two layouts on one sheet
La Mercanti supplies a plan of the room with the Ginza table, the chairs for each use and the position of the Tower. Whoever prepares the room follows the sheet rather than improvising.
