A leather conference table top is not one piece of leather. It is a set of cuts, and the datasheet for Euclideo says something most catalogues leave out: depending on the category of saddle leather chosen, the size of those cuts can vary significantly. The pattern you see on the surface is therefore a consequence of the hide, decided before production, not a graphic applied afterwards.

That honesty is worth more than a rendering. Stitching exists only on the saddle leather version, never on the soft leather one; the top can equally be veneered or lacquered in a RAL colour, and it spans 530 by 180 cm or 350 by 180. Designed by Ferruccio Laviani in 2024 as the boardroom counterpart of the Euclideo desk. La Mercanti puts the leather category on the table at the quotation stage, because it is the one decision that changes what the finished surface looks like.

FAQ

Why would two identical tables look different in leather?
Because the top is assembled from cuts, and the datasheet states that their size can vary significantly depending on the category of saddle leather chosen. Two tables with the same code and different leather categories will not carry the same pattern.
Is the leather category decided before or after the order?
Before. It is part of the specification rather than a detail settled later, precisely because it changes the layout of the surface as well as the material itself.
Does the soft leather version have stitching too?
No. Stitching is available only on the saddle leather version; on soft leather it is not offered at all. The two versions are different surfaces, not two colours of the same one.
Can the top be specified without leather at all?
Yes. The same top exists as veneered particleboard or lacquered in a RAL colour. Leather is one of three routes, and each changes what arrives in the room.
How large is the surface in each version?
530 by 180 cm or 350 by 180 cm, both with a section of 27 cm at the centre. The depth stays the same across both lengths.

How to specify a leather conference table top without surprises

Five steps that keep the finished surface identical to what was approved.

Name the leather category first
It governs the size of the cuts, so it belongs in the specification alongside the colour rather than after it.
Ask to see the layout
The pattern of the cuts across a 530 cm top is a drawing. Request it before the order rather than discovering it on delivery.
Decide on stitching
Only saddle leather can be stitched. If the project wants a seamless surface, the soft leather version is the one to specify.
Compare against the alternatives
Veneer and RAL lacquer are equally standard routes for this top. Judge all three under the same light.
Get the sample to the room
The cost of samples is credited in full on order confirmation. La Mercanti brings the categories side by side before anything is committed.
