Most boardroom tables solve their span the obvious way: more legs. Euclideo solves it the elegant way — a top of up to 530 by 180 centimetres resting on a single central base that, in i4Mariani's words, balances its equilibrium symmetrically until the surface seems suspended, apparently free from the laws of gravity. Twenty seats, zero knees hitting steel.

The geometry is Ferruccio Laviani's, drawn in 2019 as the evolution of his Euclideo designer desk: faceted solids that interpenetrate, volumes delimiting functions. The engineering is i4Mariani's — a steel structure clad with four panels in veneer, RAL lacquer, saddle leather or soft leather, carrying a top whose wood version lays the veneer in orthogonal grain, a quiet graphic signature you notice from the head of the table.

The same family covers the executive floor: the monobloc desk at 280x230 or 230x190 with its return cabinet with four drawers and a door unit, ebony-type veneer as standard, low tables at two heights. Even the steel element under the desktop comes covered in leather. La Mercanti supplies UK projects with datasheets and 2D and 3D drawings from the article page, and configures lengths, finishes and the electrified top box at order stage.

FAQ

How does a 530 cm Euclideo top stand on just one base?
Through balance rather than brute force: the central steel base is positioned to balance the top symmetrically, so the surface reads as suspended — i4Mariani describes it as apparently free from the laws of gravity. The practical dividend is real: no leg frames along the sides, free knee room at every seat.
What is the orthogonal grain on the conference top?
In the veneered version the wood is laid with grains running at right angles to each other across the facets — a graphic pattern that maps the geometry of the top. It is the kind of detail a chairman sees every day and a photograph barely catches.
Which sizes does the Euclideo meeting table come in?
Two lengths, both 180 cm deep: 350 cm for boards of ten to twelve, and the full 530 cm for the room where the whole leadership sits. Tops come in veneer, saddle leather or RAL lacquer, with the base clad in four panels to match or contrast.
Is the matching desk part of the same collection?
Yes — the conference table evolved from the Euclideo desk: a single block integrating the top with a return cabinet of four drawers and a door unit, at 280x230 or 230x190 cm, with ebony-type veneer as standard and mirrored right or left versions.
What documentation supports a UK specification?
Datasheet plus 2D and 3D drawings, downloadable directly from the article page — ready for space planning and the contractor's file. La Mercanti configures lengths, finishes and the electrified top option with you at order stage; finish samples are charged and fully credited on order confirmation.

Planning a boardroom around a single-base table

A sequence for UK facilities teams and designers specifying the 530 or 350 cm Euclideo — geometry first, finishes second, drawings before delivery.

Measure the room for the top, not the legs
With no perimeter legs, the clearance that matters is around the top itself: draw the 530x180 or 350x180 footprint with circulation behind every chair, and let the single base disappear from the plan.
Choose the top by how the room works
Veneer with orthogonal grain for the classic boardroom, saddle leather with stitching where the table doubles as a signing desk, RAL lacquer where architecture sets the palette. The base panels follow or contrast.
Bring power through the base line
Plan floor boxes near the central base rather than trenching the perimeter — one base means one service route. On the matching desk, specify the electrified top box at order stage.
Pair the desk from the same theorem
The executive office takes the monobloc desk — 280 or 230, right or left — in the same finish logic, so boardroom and office read as one project rather than two purchases.
File the drawings before the crane
Download the 2D and 3D drawings and the datasheet from the article page and share them with the fit-out contractor early: a 530 cm top deserves a delivery route checked on paper first.
