Trade terms for professionals and design studios

Every long table hides the same compromise: legs where knees and chairs want to be. The Cross table addresses it with engineering the manufacturer declares openly — a span of up to nearly four metres (around 13 feet), made possible by modern die-cast aluminium. The sheet calls the result architectural, and the word is earned: a sturdy structure carrying a substantial length, minimal in line, with ample clear space beneath for the people actually sitting at it.

Designed by the Milanese studio Metrica in 2014, the system builds around that span: two declared heights of 74 and 105 cm (29.1 and 41.3 inches), tops in Fenix® laminate or oak and wengé veneer, in-line configurations to extend the room, and electrified versions with power and data units in the top. Boardroom, collaborative work, conference settings, home office and training rooms all read the same line. For UK projects, La Mercanti configures Cross span by span, with delivery times confirmed in writing at order confirmation.

FAQ

Which heights does Cross come in?
Two declared heights: the classic 74 cm and a 105 cm version the manufacturer describes as ideal for meeting or working at — same line, two postures for the room.
Can the leg position be chosen?
Yes: legs sit flush with the edge or set back 45 or 60 cm depending on the top size — and on the electrified versions the position is defined at order stage.
Is Cross suitable for non-domestic use?
The sheet references EN 15372 for non-domestic tables, with declared application levels running from light settings such as libraries up to severe environments — meeting rooms and banks sit in the general level.
Does it work in residential projects?
Yes — residential spaces are among the declared settings: the same table serves the boardroom and the large home study without changing language.
What does the electrified version include?
Cross Office at 74 cm carries three power and data units in a fixed top opening, a cable duct in white or black and a leg equipped for cable routing; the 105 cm version carries one unit.

How to write a one-page datasheet for your meeting room

Five steps to a single sheet that answers every future question about the room — before anyone asks it.

State what the room is for
One line on the room's declared purpose — board meetings, workshops, hybrid calls: every later choice refers back to it.
List the fixed constraints
Doors, columns, windows, floor boxes: the immovable facts go on the sheet first, because furniture negotiates with them.
Record the furniture as ordered
For a Cross table: height, finish, version and leg position — written once from the order confirmation, not from memory.
Add the people numbers
Typical attendance and maximum attendance: two numbers that explain the room to anyone who books it.
Keep the sheet where the room lives
A copy in the booking system and one with facilities: a room with a datasheet never gets refurnished by guesswork.
