On most conference chairs the armrests are attached. On Cari they are the shell: the moulded body curves round and becomes the arm, so nothing is bolted on, nothing works loose and there is no joint to catch a sleeve. Arper describes the result as support and a sense of protection — a chair that closes slightly around whoever sits in it rather than simply holding them upright.
That matters where meetings run long, and it matters just as much in a reception or waiting area, where a visitor sits alone and the chair is the only thing keeping them company. The shell is recycled and recyclable polypropylene, the polyurethane padding is assembled without glue and a hidden zip lets the cover be replaced. Designed by Doshi Levien in 2026, Cari reaches international projects through La Mercanti.
