Classic executive desks usually pay for power with a hole in the top. Inca does not. The socket box rotates back out of sight and lives inside the lacquered element next to the sideboard cabinet — 2 universal sockets, 2 USB (A+C), one HDMI, one RJ45, available in the sideboard cabinets and in the pedestals made for 110 cm deep desks. Close it and the working surface is again a single uninterrupted plane.

That is consistent with a collection the maker describes as light and simple in line, built from intersecting parallelepipeds, with a lacquered wooden foot linking desk, tables, storage and even the handles. Tops run 200 to 260 cm on 110 deep, 180 to 220 on 90, at 75,5 high, in veneer, saddle leather, leather or melamine. Designed by Valerio Sommella in 2022 and supplied to international projects by La Mercanti, drawings first.

FAQ

How does a retractable socket box work in practice?
It sits flush inside the lacquered element next to the sideboard cabinet and rotates out when you need it, then rotates back and disappears. Because it is not cut into the desk top, the working surface stays continuous, which matters on a leather or veneered plane where a lid would always be visible.
What does it carry?
Two universal sockets, two USB ports (A and C), one HDMI and one RJ45. It is specified in the sideboard cabinets and in the pedestals designed for 110 cm deep desks, so the choice of depth also decides where the power lands.
Can power be brought to a 90 cm deep desk?
The rotating box is listed for the 110 cm configuration and for the sideboard cabinets. For a 90 cm layout the routing has to be agreed on the drawings, and what is feasible is confirmed case by case on the manufacturer's documentation.
Does the desk top ever get drilled?
Not in the standard configuration: the collection deliberately keeps the plane intact and moves the technical part into the lacquered element. That is also why the top can be specified in saddle leather without a cut interrupting it.
Can the service cabinet be finished like the desk?
Yes. Tops, sides and fronts of the cabinets are available veneered, covered in saddle leather or leather, or in melamine, exactly as the desk tops are. That is what keeps the adjustable unit reading as furniture and not as equipment parked in an executive room.

How to plan power for an executive desk

Five steps for a room where the cables should not be visible from the visitor's chair.

Decide what the top must stay
If the surface has to read as one plane, the power cannot live in it. That single decision rules out most standard desking.
Locate the lacquered element
The rotating socket box is housed there, next to the sideboard cabinet. Its position on the plan decides which side of the desk carries the technology.
Follow the depth
The box is specified for sideboard cabinets and for pedestals made for 110 cm deep desks, so depth and power are one decision.
Coordinate with the floor
Floor boxes and the lacquered element should line up. Agree both on the same drawing, not in two separate ones.
Confirm before production
La Mercanti supplies the technical drawings ahead of the order, so the routing is verified on paper rather than on site.
