Curved lecture hall rows fitted with Omnia Evolution by Ares Line

Design the lecture hall in a curve — Omnia Evolution follows

Ares Line

Giovanni Baccolini

Most beam-mounted writing tablets force a straight row. Ares Line took the opposite path: on Omnia Evolution the anti-panic tablet can be anchored to a beam and installed on a curve, so the architect draws the arc the room deserves and keeps every safety function intact. Feel free to design in curve exactly as in line — the manufacturer's own words.

Around that freedom sits a complete system, designed by BaccoliniDesign: structures for flat, stepped or sloping floors, three seat versions from beech plywood to full upholstery, and front panels that give the first row a finished face. Universities from Venice to Doha teach on it daily; corporate academies use the same rows for training.

La Mercanti supports architects and estates teams across Europe and beyond with drawings, finishes and a configuration checked directly with Ares Line — send us your hall layout, curved or not.

FAQ

Has Omnia Evolution been installed in any English-speaking universities?
Yes — the University of Limerick in Ireland teaches on it, alongside references from the Politecnico di Milano to City University College in Doha. Ares Line publishes the full project list.
Which step heights can the structure handle?
Three configuration bands: up to 27 cm with a raised backrest, 28–35 cm with an optional headrest, and 36 cm upwards. The vertical structure is set to the height of each step, so posture stays correct on every row.
Where do students put bags and books?
A book basket can be fixed either under the writing tablet (horizontal storage) or to the structure (vertical storage), keeping the floor and the escape routes clear.
What front panels are available for the first row?
Five: Master in beech plywood or laminate, Steel in coated sheet metal, Soft upholstered, Acoustic in milled laminate and Upright with a vertical structure — the row facing the lectern arrives finished, not improvised.
Can we see the finishes before ordering?
Yes. La Mercanti provides the Ares Line finish samples — beech, laminates, upholstery — and the sampling cost is fully credited on order confirmation.

How to choose between fixed and anti-panic tablets

The two tablets serve different halls; five checks tell you which one your room needs.

Map the escape routes
Rooms where rows sit far from exits benefit most from tablets that fold with body pressure as people stand.
Check your power needs
The 1-track Power channel pairs with the fixed tablet only — if every seat needs a socket, that decides early.
Look at row geometry
Curved installations take the dedicated anti-panic version anchored to the beam; straight rows accept every type.
Weigh the teaching style
Long writing sessions favour the 30 cm fixed surface; short lectures with high turnover favour folding tablets.
Confirm with the layout
Send La Mercanti the seating plan — we validate tablet type row by row with Ares Line before you commit.
