Almost every desk in a catalogue is a top placed on legs. The D1 series by Colombini Office is described differently, and the difference is one word in the technical sheet: the structure receives the top recessed into it.
What that changes is visible from a standing height. There is no lip of laminate overhanging a frame, no shadow gap that collects dust along the edge, and the profile — extruded aluminium, section 50 × 45 mm, 3 mm thick — reads as the outline of the desk rather than as something underneath it. The fixing is spelled out too: metric screws with zama M6 bushings on the melamine top, stainless steel threaded plates glued underneath on the glass one.
The same construction runs through the operative desk, the executive desk and the meeting table, so an entire floor shares one silhouette.

Versions: open (two widths, with internal dividers and shelves), with hinged doors (anti-corrosion metal hinges, easy-to-assemble, spring closure, 110° opening, adjustment in three directions, soft-close on request) and with sliding doors (top sliding system, damped on opening and closing, aluminium rail integrated in the top, central lower ABS guide, quick-fit ABS and steel carriages with about 2 mm (0.08 in) of adjustment; internally with divider and removable shelves, or with divider, shelves and an internal drawer unit)
Drawers: Th 12 mm (0.47 in) melamine band covered in PVC foil, Alluminio finish, matching bottom, Quadro damped runners with push-pull opening
