Generations of British architects and engineers did their best thinking standing at a drawing board — a habit the modern office quietly retired. Eleva, a height-adjustable modern desk, brings the posture back with executive manners: at the touch of a control the top travels from 75 to 120 cm, desk height to drafting height, and the work changes register with it. Bralco builds it in the Veneto furniture district, to a design by Gianantonio Perin and Monica Fernandes.
What you will not see is the machinery. The lifting columns live inside two curved oak legs, and the integrated cabling runs down through the leg to a metal plate at the floor — so the desk stays composed at every height, cables included. The working zone is a stitched leather inlay set flush into the top; storage handles are drawn as carefully as the desk itself, one metal bar above, one curved pull below.
The collection thinks beyond the single desk: a service-unit version docks the rising top to a credenza, meeting tables climb to 120 cm alongside you, the boardroom table stretches to 440 cm, and low sideboards on slender steel legs carry the same seven oak finishes — with back-lacquered glass, ten leathers and even ecomalta on the palette. La Mercanti configures the set to the project and coordinates delivery wherever the office stands. The drawing board never really left; it just learned to dress.
