Orlandini Design — never more than six or seven projects at a time

Orlandini Design, the studio of Folco and Paolo Orlandini — designers of Las Mobili Jera, Monolith and Jera Chair

Most studios take the work that comes. Orlandini Design made a rule out of the opposite: the team has never exceeded six people and never handles more than six or seven projects at once, because attention and time have to be allocated to each one and neither can be stretched. It is an unfashionable way to run a practice, and it shows in the drawings. Folco Orlandini — born in Grosseto in 1972, trained at Milan Polytechnic — has led the studio since 2009 with his father Paolo.

That discipline reaches a British workplace as three Las Mobili collections on La Mercanti: the Jera and Monolith executive desks and the Jera Chair.
