Dorigo Design, the Italian studio with a Bath address

Dorigo Design studio, Conegliano and Bath

Few Italian design studios keep an office in Somerset. Dorigo Design does: alongside the headquarters in Conegliano, the practice runs a British office in Bath, where architectural designer Massimo Dorigo is based. The studio was founded in 1992 by Fiorenzo Dorigo — born in Treviso in 1953, trained in art and design in Venice, independent since 1987 and an ADI member — and works across industrial, furniture, product and interior design for office, domestic, contract and public clients on four continents.

For Sitland the studio has signed twelve seating designs, from the Milos family to Lido and Cell128; Dieffebi lists the practice among its designers. British projects sourced through La Mercanti get the rare combination: Italian manufacturing with a design office in the same time zone. The accent is Italian; the address book is not.
