Specifiers compare backrests and finishes, then discover the chair sits too high under the table. Nemea, a designer chair by Pedrali, makes the comparison easy, because the frame never changes and the seat height does: 460 mm with the plywood seat, 470 with the padded panel, 490 where the seat is hand-woven in cellulose rope, 495 on the fully upholstered version. Three and a half centimetres between the lowest and the highest — roughly the difference between comfortable and constrained under a standard dining top.

Everything else is deliberately identical: 520 by 500 mm on the floor, 765 mm tall (780 on the fully upholstered 2823), a die-cast aluminium support holding legs, seat and back together, solid ash or American walnut legs, water-based matt lacquer. Eight codes cover the range, from the bare 2820 to the armchairs 2825, 2826 and 2827. Which seat height suits a standard table?
Start from the top and work down. The plywood versions sit at 460 mm, the padded panel at 470, the hand-woven seat at 490 and the fully upholstered chair at 495. On a low top, the two upholstered codes are the ones to check first, because 495 mm leaves the least room for your legs.
Does the chair get taller when it is upholstered?
Overall height stays 765 mm on seven codes out of eight; only the fully upholstered 2823 grows to 780. What really moves is the seat, and it moves because the padding sits on the same plywood shell rather than replacing it.
Are the footprint and depth the same across the range?
Yes: 520 mm wide and 500 mm deep on all eight, armchairs included, with the armrests at 680 mm. That is why mixed schemes work — the spacing you calculate for one version holds for the others.
Which version copes best with long sittings?
The 2823 is the only one padded on both seat and backrest, with a rigid polyurethane core inside the back. Where people stay at the table for two hours, that is the code to look at; where they sit for twenty minutes, the plywood seat is easier to keep clean.
Can the same model run through a whole building?
It is designed for exactly that. Plywood versions for the canteen, padded ones for the meeting rooms, armchairs at the head of the table, the woven seat in the lounge: one drawing, eight codes, and a single delivery to coordinate.

Measure the underside of the top
Not the top surface: the apron or beam is what your knees meet.
Pick the seat height
460, 470, 490 or 495 mm, depending on what sits on the shell.
Decide on armrests
At 680 mm they slide under most tops; measure yours before committing.

Felt inserts for wood and marble, plastic ones for carpet and concrete.
