Modular seating usually shows its joints: a clip, a plate, a bolt under the seat that a cleaner finds before anyone else does. Waves hides the joint. The manufacturer states that every element conceals a magnet in its structure, so two pouffes pushed together simply stay together, edge to edge, and part again when the layout changes. Nothing to unscrew, nothing to lose, and no visible hardware on pieces that are meant to be looked at from above.
The rest follows from that decision. Constance Guisset drew the family in 2018 as a set of visitor and reception chairs with free-form plans – Diamond, Parallel, Trapezium, Hexagon, the round Conic, the three-leaf Trio and the Leaf daybed – three of them also with a small backrest. LaCividina intends them for the lobby, for waiting areas and exhibition spaces, and completes the set with wooden tables that hide power sockets and USB ports. The magnet set is listed as a separate item. La Mercanti supplies the magnet sets with the pieces, so the composition arrives already able to hold.
