A theatre by Perret, refitted 175 square metres at a time: Constance Guisset

When the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées reopened its foyer for the 2025 season, with the Vienna Philharmonic on stage on 10 September, the reception areas had been redrawn by Constance Guisset. Auguste Perret's building is over a century old; the brief covered 175 square metres, from the box office to the bar and the waiting alcoves under the stairs, with tables whose lines are lifted from the volutes of the guardrail and fabrics by Pierre Frey chosen to sit inside the existing palette. The Paris studio she founded in 2009 works in three registers at once, furniture, interiors and stage design, and describes its aim as a balance between ergonomics, delicacy and imagination: movement suggested through lightness, never at the expense of comfort.

The same hand drew Waves for LaCividina in 2018, a modular seating system whose upholstered islands are held together by magnets: a hexagon of 185 cm (72.8 in), a parallel bench of 192 cm (75.6 in), a leaf-shaped daybed. UK projects can specify the full family through La Mercanti, fabrics sampled from the LaCividina range before the order is placed.
