Neri&Hu, the studio London named best in the world

Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu of Shanghai studio Neri&Hu

When Dezeen — the London platform that watches every practice on earth — picked its Architecture Studio of the Year in 2021, the award went to Neri&Hu of Shanghai. Founded in 2006 by Lyndon Neri and Rossana Hu, the practice runs from masterplans to furniture with a staff speaking more than thirty languages, and builds each project on a stated ethos: experience, detail, material, form and light in dynamic interaction.

British specifiers already sit on their work without knowing it — the Sedan chairs for ClassiCon, the Together chair for Fritz Hansen, nine collections for De La Espada. For workplace and hospitality projects, La Mercanti reads their lesson daily: judge a supplier by the discipline of its details, then let the space do the talking.
