Dante Bonuccelli: an Argentine architect in Milan and the furniture for Albion Wharf, London
Albion Wharf Riverside, in London, was a Foster & Partners scheme, and its furniture was designed in Milan: Dante Bonuccelli took on that part of the work for the practice. Foster is one of several leading practices he has worked alongside, among them Herzog & de Meuron and SANAA. He is an Argentine architect who qualified in Buenos Aires in 1979, spent his first years building in Argentina and moved to Milan in 1984, where he worked on buildings, exhibition fit-outs and interiors for other studios, from 1985 alongside Gregotti Associati. His own practice, Avenue Architects, opened in 1998 and takes on both buildings and products, for clients across Europe and Asia, the Americas and Australia.
His piece in our range is Blade System, made by Lamm for lecture theatres, conference rooms and auditoria. Rows, spacing and layout for a British university or conference centre are agreed with the project architect, while La Mercanti works from the same drawings.
