41zero42 — the tiles that reached Battersea Power Station
When Dutch eyewear brand Ace & Tate fitted out its London store inside Battersea Power Station, the surfaces came from a creative studio in Fiorano Modenese: 41zero42, named after its own postcode — 41042 — as a declaration of belonging to the world's ceramic district. The studio was born to look beyond ceramics and talk to interior design, and it shows: industrial elements set against craft, colour against neutrals, «maximalist decoration and minimalist atmospheres» in the same catalogue.
That catalogue now runs to 31 collections — Pixel41, the Paper41 family, Superclassica, WigWag — with credentials attached: Futura took the Best of Year 2018 award and the brand entered the ADI Design Index 2019. They call themselves storytellers — «call us storytellers, we won't be offended» — and every collection carries a narrative worth specifying. For UK projects, La Mercanti brings these surfaces into the furniture package, from sampling to coordinated supply.
