Bespoke: size, colour, finish
Colour on a chair is normally a surface: light hits it and comes back. On the Punk design chair by Green it works the other way round. The back is moulded in polycarbonate, and five of its finishes are transparent — clear, green, orange, red and anthracite — so the colour is something you look through.
In a room that matters. A row of solid backs reads as a barrier; a row of transparent ones lets the floor, the window and the people behind carry on. It is also why the same chair changes character between a bright café and an evening dining room, without changing a single component.
The rest of the family keeps the same logic where it can: Steam Punk, Cyber Punk and Rivet Punk all use the transparent polycarbonate back, while the Shark line answers with a solid polypropylene one. Thirteen models in all, made at Vicopisano, near Pisa.
