Most tiles stop at their edges. Otto does not. Mutina moulds a soft relief into every plank so that it carries on into the next one, and the eye reads a single moving surface rather than a grid of pieces. Light spreads evenly across it, catching the smoother areas and the more textured ones without hard shadows, which is why the same floor looks different at ten in the morning and again before dusk.
The plank itself is deliberately plain: one size, 15 × 90 cm (6″ × 36″), 9.5 mm (⅜″) of glazed porcelain stoneware, and eight shades that take their cue from Emilia, the region Luigi Ghirri photographed for decades. Latte, Perla, Nebbia, Salvia, Burro, Cipria, Terra and Acqua are all made with pigments ground in water.
Mutina puts no limit on where it goes: floor or wall, bathroom or terrace. In an executive bathroom one colour can climb from the floor up the wall, finished with a matching skirting. Before anything is ordered, La Mercanti lays a dozen planks side by side on site so the client sees the relief move under the room’s own daylight.

Latte L1, Perla P5, Nebbia N3, Salvia S7, Burro B4, Cipria C2, Terra T1 and Acqua A4. Mutina describes them as veiled greens, warm greys, muted blues, beiges, creams and rosy earths, all derived from its own historic palette.
The data sheet gives R10 under DIN 51130 for shod traffic and class B under DIN 51097 for barefoot areas, together with a wet pendulum value of 40. Those figures are what a specifier checks against the floor’s intended use.
9.5 mm (⅜″), the same for every shade. That is thin enough to go over many existing floors in a refurbishment, provided the substrate is sound and level, and thick enough for exterior paving on a proper bed.
Yes. La Mercanti sends samples of the shades you are considering; the cost is fully credited against the order once it is confirmed. Look at them in the room itself, because these colours change noticeably with the light.
Mutina tests stain resistance under ISO 10545-14 and Otto reaches class 5, the top of the scale, with water absorption of 0.07%. Spills stay on the glaze and wipe off with a porcelain cleaner diluted in water.
Otto comes in one plank size, so the order is simple arithmetic. Five steps from floor area to pallets.
Take the floor or wall area where Otto will go, in square metres, and subtract doors, fixed units and any zone finished in another material.
Each box of Otto covers 0.94 m² (10.1 sq ft) with seven planks. Divide the net area by 0.94 and round up to the next whole box.
A straight pattern needs less cutting than a staggered one. Add a margin for cuts, then round up again so the last row is never short of Otto.
Measure the perimeter in metres. Otto skirting comes ten pieces to a box, covering 9 m (29.5 ft), and is ordered as its own line.
A full pallet holds 51 boxes, 47.94 m² (516 sq ft). La Mercanti rounds the Otto order to boxes, not to square metres, and confirms the weight for delivery.
