One verb in LaCividina’s own description of Mon Coeur carries the whole story: the sofa, it writes, has become an icon of the house. Nobody becomes an icon on launch day. Peter Harvey drew the piece in 1998, and the technical sheet that describes it today is dated 2026. What has held its place since then can be told in a single breath: a long upholstered shell, low in the middle and rising to a point at either end, with no straight line anywhere and no visible leg, only two round discs underneath.
In a hall, where it serves as reception seating, the sofa claims 240 × 110 cm (94 1/2 × 43 1/4 in) of floor and stands 115 cm (45 1/4 in) tall. Behind the curves sits a frame that LaCividina reinforces for public areas, a flame-retardant foam that keeps its shape, and stitching backed with carbon fibre. On the data sheet it is photographed in red; the colour belongs to the covering, not to the model. The same shell also turns up under sofas and lounge pieces, for rooms away from the front desk.
Its companion is the swivel armchair, 120 cm wide (47 1/4 in) on the same depth, resting on one disc rather than two. Then come the choices. There are eleven covering grades, Start to Imperial, in fabric or leather, or the client may supply the material; the base is polished chrome or black RAL 9005; extra cushions and a USB socket can be added. What leaves the factory settled stays settled: the cover cannot be removed, and under it lie solid fir and beech, beech plywood, fibreglass, masonite and steel. La Mercanti asks what else is in the room before suggesting where the sofa goes.

The seat sits at 43 cm (16 7/8 in) on both pieces, the swivel armchair and the two-seat sofa. LaCividina gives the same figure in the price list and on the technical sheet, so a pair placed side by side meets at one level.
Polyester fibre. The data sheet names it in the cross-section drawing, next to the polyurethane foam, as one of the materials that fill both the swivel armchair and the two-seat sofa of Mon Coeur.
The swivel armchair travels in 1.5 m³ (53 cu ft) of packaging and the two-seat sofa in 4 m³ (141 cu ft). These are the packed volumes LaCividina publishes in its price list, worth having to hand when transport is booked.
Yes. A line in the LaCividina price list classifies both pieces as made of more than 50% wood. The classification applies equally to the swivel armchair and to the two-seat sofa, whatever covering goes on top.
Yes: each measures 110 cm (43 1/4 in) from front to back. Of the two Mon Coeur pieces only the width differs, which means that in a layout their fronts and backs fall on the same lines.
Mon Coeur stands on round disc bases in polished chrome or black RAL 9005. Five steps to settle the finish by looking first at the floor it will stand on.
The swivel armchair rests on one round disc base and the two-seat sofa on two. Every disc in the project needs a finish, so begin by counting how many will touch the floor and where each one goes.
The base is the only part of the piece that meets the floor directly, and from the door it is seen against it. Note the material and the colour of the floor at each spot where a disc will stand.
Polished chrome is the first of the two finishes. Its surface mirrors whatever lies around it, floor included, so it is better judged on the floor of the project itself than on a photograph.
The second finish is black, to the RAL 9005 reference. Writing that code rather than just “black” leaves no doubt for the person placing the order or for the one checking it on arrival.
Note the chosen finish next to each code, 3001N for the armchair and 3002N for the sofa. A base finish written down beside every line keeps the order free of guesswork.
